Welcome to the Quebec Vipassana Meditation Centre

The centre is dedicated to the practice of Vipassana Meditation as taught by S. N. Goenka in the tradition of Sayagyi U Ba Khin. Vipassana means "to see things as they really are". It is a logical process of mental purification through self-observation. Although springing from the teachings of the Buddha, this non-sectarian technique is open to everyone regardless of background or belief.

Diversity

Dhamma Suttama welcomes all to our courses. Despite our diverse beginnings and our unique lives, when we come to a Vipassana course we are united by a common cause, a common purpose—to solve the mystery of human suffering. Read more...

Introduction to Vipassana Meditation

Vipassana, which means seeing things as they really are, is one of India's most ancient meditation techniques. Long lost to humanity, it was rediscovered more than 2500 years ago by Gotama the Buddha who has taught it as a universal remedy for universal problems. We recommend to those not familiar with Vipassana Meditation to read the text based upon a public talk given by Mr. S.N. Goenka in Berne, Switzerland, 1980.
